Our own CPLC volunteers serve as a contact between the communities within 55 Division and the police. Discover how we're making an impact.
"Police and community leaders alike recognize the need for a well-defined role for local citizens to make their communities safer. As the Unit Commander at 55 Division, I'm particularly proud of our own CPLC team. Our consultative members are truly full partners and together, we're making a difference.
Our 55 Division CPLC supports our diverse communities through a variety of local CPLC programs. We regularly host Community Town Halls, working with city councillors, advocacy groups and community leaders. We support our youth through the Valerie Mah Scholarship fund, our Police Officer for a Day program and various other initiatives. And we continue to support our seniors, especially those who were the most affected by COVID.
I look forward to growing the CPLC's efforts, cultivating new leaders and continuing to build an inclusive, collaborative process to make 55 Division a sustainable, safe community in which to live, work and play."

The CPLC works to develop solutions to local concerns and gives people access and input into the local decision-making process. It empowers citizens to improve the safety of their own communities while ensuring that no group is excluded in the process.
